Role of the Educator

Ø      Educators are approved to provide child care and education in their own home. 

Ø      Kidz Planet Service provides training courses and practical workshops for educators to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Ø      Educators are visited monthly by the early childhood qualified support officers to guide and support them.

Ø      The educators are self-employed and earn income through fees.

Ø      Educators need to have public liability insurance with Family Day Care Australia, which is valid for 3 years.

Ø      Kidz Planet Educators need to use positive reinforcement and provide children with a secure base for exploration and learning. Any physical, social, emotional abuse is not tolerated.

Ø      Kidz Planet Educators need to provide opportunities for children to explore freely and learn through play.

Ø      Kidz Planet educators should honour the cultures, languages, ritual, child rearing practices and routine of families.

Ø      Kidz Planet Educators need to be careful in planning excursions and regular outings and be particular to take written authorization from the parents.

Ø      Kidz Planet Educators should be First Aid trained, should have police clearance and working with children check.

Ø      Educators need to maintain and store the records confidentially.

Ø      Kidz Planet Educators are not permitted to give any medication without Parent/Guardian written authority.

Ø      Kidz Planet Educators maintain the Medication, illness and injury records. 

Ø      Kidz planet Educators should provide nutritious meals & take care of any particular dietary requirements. 

Ø      Kidz Planet Educators are required to maintain health, hygiene and safety standards and follow the National Regulations (2012) to uphold their Approval.

Ø      Kidz Planet Educators need to have policy and procedures for their family day care service.
